Christians Against Poverty Launch Event
Local churches have worked together to set up a trust to employ a Christians Against Poverty worker for the Lancaster and Morecambe Area. This will be launched at an event including worship, talks and prayer at 7-30pm on Sat 2 Dec at Heysham Free Methodist Church.
The new CAP worker, Jono Peatman will be there, and the speaker will be Jon Cook, the CAP worker for Eden District. See www.lmdebtcentre.org.uk for more information, or visit the Facebook page.
Our Christmas Tree Festival and Craft Fair takes place from 7-9 December. Thu & Fri 3-8pm, Sat 10.30 - 5.30pm. See the event page for more information or download the flyer by clicking here.
This is something new for after school on a Thursday for parents/carers and children.
Twice a month on a Thursday 3.30 - 4.30pm in church. Songs, a story, something to make and do as well as drinks and biscuits and some fellowship together. If a month is too long to wait for the next Messy, why not give it a try?
Next session: 14 Dec.
Poulton Playtime is for pre-schoolers and their grown-ups. It's held on Tuesdays 10-11.30am in term-time in the Memorial Hall.
We charge just £1-50 per family, and that covers the session and all drinks and snacks.
Carols at The Smugglers Den: Sun 17 Dec
All your favourite Christmas carols with a drink, mince pies and a real fire. What could be better for getting you in the mood? Plus we'll be shaking a tin for West End Impact. Join us in the Smugglers Den on Sunday 17 Dec from 7-30pm.
Carols by Candlelight: Thu 21 Dec
Our traditional service of readings and carols with candlelight will be on Thursday 21 December at 7-30pm. Mince pies and mulled wine in the Memorial Hall afterwards.
Giving Envelopes and Standing Orders
Many of our church members use giving envelopes to help them to give regularly for the ministry of the church. If you currently give by putting cash on the plate or in the one-off white Gift Aid envelopes, you might find it helpful to use envelopes instead. Alternatively, a lot of people now use standing orders to give to church, which is secure and reduces the amount of cash we have to count and bank. In both cases, taxpayers can increase the value of their regular giving by 25% by filling in a single Gift Aid form.
- If you would like to start using weekly giving envelopes, contact Val Vose via the church office email: email@example.com
- If you would like to give by standing order, download a form by clicking here
- If you are a tax payer, and would like to increase the value of your giving by 25%, download a form here.
