Junior Church

Our leaflet with details of everything at MPC suitable for children and families can be downloaded here.

Come and join us!

Junior Church is what we call our activities for children aged 3-11 years on Sundays (younger ones can also take part if accompanied by an adult). It takes place from 9.50am in the War Memorial Hall opposite church. We meet to learn together from the Bible about how much God loves us and how to follow Jesus.

At the end of our session, we go over to church to join in with the main service just before communion is shared.

Please note that on the 2nd Sunday in each month we are part of the All-Age Service and all meet in church. During August, Junior Church members are welcome in church, but there are no organised sessions in Memorial Hall.

If you'd like to join in, just come along a bit early and ask one of the leaders on duty.

Plus, if you have young children, why not bring them along to our monthly Messy Church too. See our Messy Church page for details, and why not subscribe to the Messy Church email?

Junior Church Festival

In June, we celebrate with the Junior Church children and leaders in a special all-age service.

Any child will find a warm welcome from a group of enthusiastic adults

We open with a short act of worship and then it’s off to group work. We're following a series of stories which take us through the whole Bible. The children work in year groups: 3-5years, 5-7years, 7-9 years and 9-11 years.

If you have children under 3, they are welcome to join in the youngest Junior Church group, but you must stay with them for the session. A number of parents do, and we all have a lot of fun together!

We join the adult congregation for the Eucharist. We then share with the congregation what we have been doing that morning and often have displays to depict our work. The splendid picture on the left is St. Francis of Assisi and all the children enjoyed taking part. As it was so large that stepladders had to be brought into church so the work could be hung up on the wall.

You are welcome to come into Junior Church and have a look what is going on - we do welcome visitors.
